About the Bloom Gala Luncheon

At Change for Youth Foundation, we are rewriting the story for children in care and for our community.

Right now in Queensland, more than 12,000 children live in out-of-home care. Too many carry the weight of trauma, disrupted education, and a system that struggles to meet their needs. The consequences are profound – disengagement from school, social isolation, and, all too often, contact with the youth justice system.

We believe children who’ve experienced hardship deserve more than hope – they deserve action. That’s why our Empower Youth Program delivers one-on-one, trauma-informed learning and wellbeing support, and why we work closely with schools, systems, and carers to advocate for lasting change. The results are powerful: when a child reconnects with learning, they begin to see possibility in themselves and in their future. These are not small wins – they are life-changing.

In March, we will host our inaugural Bloom Gala Luncheon at The Calile Hotel. More than a celebration, it is about planting seeds of opportunity – fuelling lasting change for children and communities. With every partnership and every pledge, together, we grow futures.

Your support helps young people flourish by:

  • Keeping more young people engaged in school and family-based placements
  • Advocating for trauma-aware systems that better meet their needs
  • Redirecting futures away from crisis and toward opportunity

Together, we can create a community where every child is safe, supported, and set up to shine.

Tickets will go on Sale at midday on Wednesday 29 October 2025. Tables of 10 will be available for $2490 Per table.
